Groceries is different: this data comes from PriceCatcher, an open dataset published by Malaysia's Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, built from price surveys collected directly at supermarket branches nationwide.
The price comparisons themselves carry no affiliate links or "Buy" buttons — the government figures stay independent of anything we earn from. Where PriceCatcher simply doesn't track a staple (milk, legumes, wholegrains), we list real Shopee options separately and label them as such, rather than leaving the gap unexplained. Each item page also shows a multi-year price trend, since we've logged this data back to January 2022.
